Beira’s Place is a support service run by women, for women, and is led by a women only board of directors. The building itself is also a women only space. Beira’s Place is open to women aged 16 and over who live in any part of the Lothians. The service is free of charge to all survivors and is offered to women, no matter when the violence or abuse happened.

The organisation was formed in response to the increasing number of sexual violence survivors seeking single sex spaces which are not currently available in the area. Although we are based in the New Town area of Edinburgh, appointments can take place at different venues across the area, depending on the needs of the individual. The service is appointment only.

Beira’s Place is a sexual violence specialist support service for women who have been subjected to any form of sexual violence, abuse, or exploitation at any time in their lives. The organisation is staffed by a highly skilled team of women with extensive experience of delivering support to survivors of domestic and sexual violence. More information about the service can be found here.

If you are working with a woman who you think would prefer a woman only support service, you can make a direct referral to the service by phoning on 0131 526 3944 or emailing us on support@beirasplace.org.uk.
